Ohahi/Egbema LGA: NACOY Swears-in New Exco

NACOYIt was indeed a celebration galore at Obosima Primary School, Ohaji in Ohaji Egbema LGA of Imo State, where the political heavy weights in the youth polities of Ohaji Clan gathered on the 2nd of June, 2013 to witness the swearing-in of their association’s new Exco.

Presenting his speech, the newly elected President of National Congress of Ohaji Youths NAOCY, Comrade Moses Iheanyichukwu Akumefula disclosed that NACOY was the brain child of some youth leaders in the persons of Hon. Vitalis Jakponna, Comrade Rawlins Ohagwan and late Chief Kingsley Nwaonuma among others, adding that they did not just ensure the formation of the youth body, but also fostered unity amongst the people of Ohaji Clan.

While enumerating on the mission statement of NACOY under his administration which include: putting God first in all their pursuits and giving a quality representation to people of Ohaji among others. He commended all and Sundry for their supports during and after their election and their various contributions towards the actualization of their dream and their encouragement to the growth of the organization.

NACOY President however, solicits the financial and moral support of youth leaders, Ngo’s, government and politicians at all levels to achieve the set-out goal of his administration. He further listed Imo Palm, Imo State Polytechnics, Obitti Rubber Estate and Federal College of Land Resources as some of the dividends of governance that they are yet to tap from as a result of disunity

Other nature’s providence in the land of Ohaji as a clan also include: Shell B. P, watersmith and the Gas plant that is about to be harnessed according to Moses.

In his remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Engr. Emperor Onyeka told the new executives that 3 years is just at hand, and to know that excuses will not be admitted if they fail to perform at the end of the day.

The event which had HRH Eze P. C. Onyeukwu as the Royal Father of the Day also had the presence of Engr. Ugwu Godwin, President, Ohuba Community; Hon. Ihie Azubuike, NACOY secretary for 6 years; Dom Okpu; Obinna Akpelu and Hon. Christian O. Odika.

Others include: Gospel Okechukwu, immediate past president, Umuokanna Youths; Mr. Mocha Ukwe, former youth leader in Egbema and a representative of Egbema Youth President, Hon. Ken Ekwueme; Mr. Joseph Ohiri, “Apeex” who represented Comrade Thomas Ekeh “Tommy”; the president of Ohaji/Egbema/Agwa Youth Council; and Barr. Iyke Amadi, the ELECO chairman of the 25th May 2013 NACOY election that was held at Umuagwo Central School, Ohaji, amongst others.

In their responses, the stakeholders enjoined the new executives to brace up with the challenges ahead, and to resort to them for financial and moral supports, adding that they should count themselves as glorious for the resolve of the stakeholders to come together and work with them for the interest and unity of Ohaji people.

Some of the newly sworn-in members are: Akumefula Moses I. as the President; Amadi Collins C., Vice President I; Mezie Lawson T., Vice President II; Amaechi Gideon C., Secretary General; Ugwuezumba Ann, Assistant Secretary and Umah Christopher as Treasurer.

Others include: Ugorji Emmanuel as the Financial Secretary; David Egbula, the National Publicity  Secretary I; Ugorji Sabinus, National Publicity Secretary II, Chisoyi Collins O., Organizing Secretary I, Eze Ogbuji, Organizing Secretary II, Okwuchi Levi, Provost I and Echendu Anayo, as Provost II.

In his closing remarks, Comrade David Egbula, the National Publicity Secretary of NACOY commended the electoral committee members for their free and fair election conduct, adding that without them, they wouldn’t have been, promising that they will in the next three years present their score card for the people to mark them.

While Comr. Mezie Lawson, the Vice President 2 of NACOY promised to use their tenure to revitalize the broken down Ohaji and the state at large, assuring of their unlatching loyalty to the people of Ohaji and to consolidate on peace and unity. ###
