RIVLEAF Task Opobo People To Pray for Gov. Amaechi

The Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF) Opobo/Nkoro LGA chapter has been task to pray for their grand patron, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi in the current political travail in the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

The president of the body Hon. Alex Wele drop the hint at the inauguration at the council secretariat on 1st June, 2013 at Opobo.

Hon. Wele stated that RIVLEAF will not fold it arms to see that some people are discrediting the effort of their grand patron but will engage in prayers for the governor believing that prayers will change things.

The RIVLEAF president urged Opobo/Nkoro people to come together at this time to give their full support to the governor who brought development to Opobo/Nkoro and Rivers State by joining in the prayer network and advocacy programs of the group.

Hon. Alex Wele who is also one of the special assistant to the governor state that it is imperative for the people of Opobo/Nkoro to pray for their son Gov. Amaechi hence the adoption of the RIVLEAF foundation chairman address Hon. Henry Uranta.

Earlier in his address, the RIVLEAF foundation chairman Opobo/Nkoro LGA Hon. Henry Uranta said governor Amaechi has created an environment of peace in the state and urged people of the state to resist any attempt by any person to disrupt the peace enjoyed by all in the state.

He calls on Rivers people to show appreciation and solidarity to the challenges within and outside the state.

Hon. Uranta promised to work with the constitution of RIVLEAF and will also sensitize and mobilize those who are qualify for the body.

In his remark the chairman of the occasion Dame Aleruchi Cookey-Gam represented by Capt. Mike Williams charged RILEAF to continue to work hard in truth, peace and love for the state.

Capt Williams stated that the body is qualify politically enough to follow the path of truth in the campaign to move the state forward.

He said youths are leaders of tomorrow hence should follow only good leadership while advising RIVLEAF to shun violence.

In his solidarity message the member representing Opobo/Nkoro in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon.  Andrew Miller stated that it is not true that some members of the 27 Rivers State legislators have decided to work against the governor.

Hon. Miller stated that it is not possible that members of River state House of Assembly can impeach the governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi.

In his vote of thanks, the chairman of Opobo/Nkoro LGA Hon. Maclean B. Uranta noted that as one of the founding fathers what is known as RIVLEAF today he will do everything humanly possible to support the newly inaugurated chapter in his LGA.

He thanked those who honour the occasion as a sign of love to the governor nothing that Opobo/Nkoro is the second home of the governor. The LGA boss said his local government is intact for the governor.

In an interview with journalist shortly after the event the LGA chairman said RIVLAEF is duly registered and that he is happy and grateful to God.

Highlight of the event was the lecture delivered by Dr. Adolhus Toby and associate professor. ###
