Group Condemns Recent Assembly Crisis…Restates Support for Amaechi

The Fans and Supports of Governor Amaechi (FASUGA) have condemned in totality the disrespect of Law and Order by the five lawless lawmakers who they alleged  are having the support of the Minister of State, for  Education, Nyesom Wike and the Presidency.

This came shortly after the organization critically reviewed the present political situation in Rivers State, in its emergency meeting Tuesday, in Port Harcourt.

FASUGA described the incident that happened in the State  House of Assembly as an attempted legislative coup, shameful, barbaric, uncivilized and irresponsible, thereby diminishing the personalities of elected honourable members of the House.

FASUGA thanked the Rt. Honourable Speaker Otelemaba Daniel Amachree and other Hon. members of House for their

show of maturity and discipline in the conduct of their legislative business, especially  in amending and approving the budget for the Governor and smooth governance of the state.

The group calls for an end to  this political madness of desperate politicians in and out of the State and it condemned the legislative rascality of the so called five honourable members.

FASUGA who spoke through its   Chairman and Secretary, Barrister Ibiene Cotton Amachree and Hon. Uchechukwu Igbegiri, Esq. respectively called for the immediate suspension of the five lawless house members and consequently urged their constituencies to recall them.

The chairman frowned at how security in Rivers State has  been compromised, thereby giving opportunity to hoodlums to take advantage of the poor security situation.

He  advised the Police and other security outfits to rise to the security challenges and partner with the State Government to put this under check.

The group also supports the National Assembly (House of Representatives) for taking over the activities of the Rivers State House of Assembly and urges the Senate to  borrow a leaf from  the House of Representatives.

The Chairman of FASUGA,  called  on all supporters of the Governor to remain calm, steadfast and committed to the Governor as these dark days will soon  over, adding that his association will  soon organize a one day fasting  and prayer  to seek the face of God and to pray for the Governor and Rivers State. He enjoined all believers and supporters of Governor Amaechi, Rivers people, residents and friends of the State to attend the programme.

FASUGA lauded  the setting up of the 9 member commission of inquiry to probe the 9th and 10th July, 2013 crisis of the Rivers State  House of Assembly .
