A former councilor, ward 16 in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Obunezi Asiri Chukwo has condemned the ongoing Hon. Justice Georgewill’s Panel of Inquiry into the July 9, 2013 Rivers State House of Assembly crisis, saying it will not provide justice to the conflict.
Hon. Obunezi said this recently at Rumueme, insisting that the authority that set up the panel is a party in the case.
Obunezi alleged that the voice of Gov. Rotimi Amaechi who set up the panel was heard at the background of the video clip when the fight was going on in the Assembly ordering security men to shoot somebody, and so he cannot set up panel that will judge the matter.
He argued that there is no point judging this matter when the worst affected victim in the case is still in the hospital.
The former lawmaker frowned at the way Amaechi neglected, Michael Chinda in the hospital saying that he has not made an attempt to see him or send financial support to him, but hosted Chidi Lloyd in the government House clinic few hours after the fracas, even when Lloyd had nothing that called for medical attention.
Chukwo who is a member of Grassroot Development Initiative said that Obio/Akpor Local Government Area has been well mobilized for the support of President Goodluck Jonathan, come 2015 for second tenure.
According to him campaign to this effect has been taken to houses and homes in the area, with reasons why Jonathan must go for second tenure and everybody has agreed with them.
He reiterated his trust for the Minister of State for Education, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike whom he said is a good leader and urged the people to support him. He advised supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to immediately rally round and support Wike. ###
