PH: Fake Doctor, Baby Procurement Expert Nabbed, As Police Raid Hide Out

While many Nigerians are struggling to earn a living legitimately through hard work, others are busy thinking and engaging in criminal activities such as armed robbery, ritual killing, kidnapping, advance fee fraud 419 to mention the least.

In a shocking revelation the Nigerian Police, Rivers State command in a press briefing disclosed how a fake female medical doctor uses drugs to induce women into believing that they are pregnant with a view to procuring babies for them at the cost of N1.5million to N4 million Naira from victims.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Angela Agabe (DSP) told journalists how the police command was able to crack down on a baby factory in Elelenwo, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

According to her, luck ran out on the fake medical doctor when the police nabbed them at their hideout (clinic). Corroborating the Police PPRO, the officer incharge of Anti-kidnapping unit, Nigerian Police Command Rivers State, D.S.P Juvinus Iwu said they discovered a baby factory at Elelenwo following a tip-off where a fake female doctor incharge of the place was arrested.

He said a day old baby was discovered behind the theater of the clinic at the time of the raid.

The disclosure was made public on Monday 5th August 2013 at the command Headquarters Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.

The Anti-kidnapping unit also told journalists that they arrested a husband and wife who came to sell their day old baby at the sum of N300, 000 for reasons best known to them.

The police said the fake doctor used certain drugs to induce their victims to have symptoms of pregnancy and at the end of nine months, the doctor will secretly procure baby for the expectant mothers.

According to the police, the drugs that are administered into the women force the woman’s womb to protrude like fake pregnancy mood and at the end of nine months, the fake doctor will pour animal blood around the woman, deceiving her to have delivered.

The police spokesman said innocent women are coming from Abuja, Kaduna and Calabar to under-go the fake fertility treatment with the hope of bearing child, when in actual sense they are duped to the tune of N1.5 to N5m.

The police said the clinic is known as God’s Gift Hospital and Maternity, No. 6 School Road, Elelenwo, Port Harcourt, while the fake medical doctor’s named is Mrs. Chinyere Emeka Precious while John Ndubisi Joseph and Favour Chioma Joseph from Okigwe, Imo State were their collaborators.

During an interview, the fake doctor said she was framed up insisting that she is a medical doctor.

In another development, the police said it has arrested 20 armed robbery suspects with dangerous weapon and two jeeps. According to the police, the owner of one of the jeeps was shot and killed around Eliozu flyover in Port Harcourt.###
