A traditional ruler in Rivers State, HRH Eze G. N. Chukwumgba JP, Nye Nwe Eli of Rumurolu Community in Obio/Akpor has drawn the attention of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the need to encourage research works from Nigerian universities and discoveries made by other Nigerians in their respective fields, as the only way to move the country education sector forward.
The paramount ruler however, called on President Jonathan to come up with policies that would help in the production and promotion of made in Nigeria goods to enhance his transformation agenda.
On a personal assessment, Eze Chukwumgba commended the administration of President Jonathan, describing it as one that has caught across the entire nation as a detrabalised person, whom according to Chukwumgba is over qualified for a second tenure in office as the President of Nigeria in 2015.
Responding on the political situation in Rivers State, Chukwumgba said, “Nyesom Wike is a high quality human being in Ikwerre ethnic nationality. A man that loves his people, a man that empowers his people in every aspect of life”
Nye Nwe Eli, Rumurolu further commended Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi in his efforts as a person, but expressed dissatisfaction over the governor’s inability to carry the traditional rulers along apart from the Government recognized ones. He, however, called on the governor to recognize and elevate some of the traditional stools that are long over due for recognition.
On the 2015 Governorship slot in the state, Eze Chukwumgba added: “the Kalabaris and the Ogonis are qualified to take over governorship seat in the state after an Ikwerre Governor, but the Ogonis are more qualified since they have not even tested the position of a Deputy Governor in the state. I am not ruling out the possibility of an Ikwerre man from contesting the position which may depend on party constitution”. He stated.
In his fatherly advise, HRH Eze Chukwumgba enjoined politicians in the state to work together as a people and forget pride and respect superior authorities for peace to reign. ####
