Civil servants in Rivers State have threatened to embark on strike over what they called “unexpected September salary reduction”
The Newswriter gathered that the September salaries of civil servants in the state civil service were reducted without given them prior information. The unexpected salary reduction annoyed the workers in the civil service. Our correspondent who visited the state secretariat complex reported that the affected civil servants are not happy with the reduction. According to report reaching our newsdesk they are threatening to embark on definite strike, if the state government refuses to make refund or revisit their action.
“My brother I do not understand this pattern of salary reduction. Government should do something about it, if not there will be crisis” a civil servant who pleaded for anonymity told our reporter.
According to him, if nothing is being done, the state civil servants have no option than to proceed on indefinite strike. ###
