Emenike Delivers Eagles From Ethiopia Defeat

EMENIKE EMMANUEL - SUPER EAGLES

Two goals from Emmanuel Emenike of Nigeria saw Nigeria Super Eagles escaping defeat from the hands of the Ethiopians, in a must win FIFA Brazil 2014 World cup play-off encounter at Addis Abba.

The encounter is such a thrilling one that has kept Nigerians soccer fan tongue wagging with much optimistism. Ethipia on their part have boasted that the Eagles, the Africa champions will be beaten at their home soil when the Eagles come visiting, that almost came to be after playing goalless in the first half of the encounter, but on the second half, the Eagle were as if they were not the Eagles that Keshi was in charge of at AFCON in South Africa. The Ethiopians had a better play time against the Super Eagles in every department of the game, the Ethiopians are better, in fact, they were in charge of  the game.

The Ethiopian proved that in 57th minute of the second half by scoring a well tailored technical goal. Super eagles standing captain Vincent Enyeama was beaten to his timing and reading sense as he could not read and time that particular diagonal pull out.

Emenike out of the blues proved his stuff by firing home a well thought furious shot to get Nigeria’s first goal in the 65th minute to read scores Ethiopian 1-Nigeria 1.

With this done, the Eagles were fired up to action as they played with much purposeful ambition for goal, Victor Moses missed a goal bound move without much ado, he was substituted by Brown Ideye.

The Eagles intensified their play till newcomer Brown Ideye was fouled at the 18 yard box of the Ethiopians, the referee awarded penalty to Nigeria, which Emenike gladly made it two for the Super Eagles at the dot of 90 minute.

Keshi, needs to put his team in order before the return leg, midfield and even in the defence, if the world cup is something important to his coaching record, for now the Eagles could not hold their own against some Super soccer nations in the world cup come
