PRESS RELEASE OF THE RIVERS PDP THIRD FORCE MOVEMENT NYESOM WIKE’S AMBITION WILL BURY RIVERS PDP

The attention of the Rivers PDP Third Force Movement has been directed to a purported endorsement of the Hon Minister Supervising the Federal Ministry of Education- Chief. Ezebuwon Nyesom Wike to be the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State for the 2015 election. The purported endorsement said to have been orchestrated by the trio of the Rivers State PDP Chairman, Chief Felix Obuah, Prince Uche Secondus and Nyesom Wike himself  is highly condemnable by us, it makes a caricature of the principle of equity, justice, fairness and adequate representation practiced by our highly esteem party.

This act by the trio is aimed at sabotaging the Presidential and Gubernatorial successes of our great party in Rivers State. We are no doubt convinced that these Trio who had both been members of the kitchen cabinet and lackeys to the Rivers State APC leader (Gov Rotimi Amaechi) may be acting his script to make PDP fail in Rivers State. Otherwise, no sane, dedicated and right thinking party member would wish to adopt or support Chief Nyesom Wike as the PDP Rivers governorship candidate for 2015.

Let us state categorically that Chief Nyesom Wike can never serve the good interest of the Rivers people, and no amount of force, intimidation or oppression will make us accept him to represent our great party and state.

Rivers State has honest, dedicated and trustworthy individuals vying for the esteem sit of the Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike has served his time, we believe it is time for Rivers State to produce people that have etiquette, socially and politically appropriate behaviour that would mould our state to greatness.

We are certain that presenting Chief Nyesom Wike as the gubernatorial flag bearer of the PDP would lead to a definite failure at the polls and we are not ready to see our beloved party fail in Rivers State.

God forbid! Let it also be known that if Chief Wike is fielded Rivers People will rise against him and resist any attempt by members of a single ethnic group to succeed each other in an ethnically plural State like Rivers State. As law-abiding citizens we hereby call on Chief Wike to desist from the temptation of running as a gubernatorial aspirant or fronting any candidate of his choosy on the platform of the PDP even though he has the constitutional right to so do.

Therefore, the movement as a matter of urgency calls on all patriotic sons and daughters of Rivers PDP such as Sir (Dr) Peter Odili, Chief Ombo Isokariari, the Hon Minister for Sports- Dr Tammy Danagogo, Sir Celestine Omehia, Sen Lee Mieba, Chief Chibudom Nwuche, Dr Abiye Sekibo, Chief Bekinbo Soberekon, Dr Lancelot Anyanya, Senator George Thompson  Sekibo, Chief K.K Kobani, Professor Owate,Dr Doris Fisher, Dr Felix O. Felix, Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs, PrinceTonye Princewill, Professor Achinenwu, Dr Imegi, Barr Soalabo West, Charles Beke, Navy Captain Ibim Princewill (Rtd), Barr Nimi Walson-Jack, Barr

Christopher Green and others to immediately constitute a formidable block to organize and liberate our State chapter of the PDP from darkness.

We also urgently reiterate our call on the National Leader of the PDP, President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman –  Alhaji Adamu Muazu, the NEC and NWC of the PDP to immediately start the process of restructuring the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State to reflect the interest of all stakeholders of the state and call on the trio of Nyesom Wike, Uche Secondus and Felix Obuah to order regarding their plans of disinteragrating the PDP in Rivers State due to their personal and selfish agenda
