Imo State: APGA Is A Mass Movement For Igbo Conscience

JOSEPH IKUNNAAn Mgbidi born politician in Oru West LGA of Imo state, Mr. Joseph Chukwuma Ikunna has described the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA party as a mass movement of Igbo conscience.

Ikunna who made the disclosure in Owerri, Imo State, stated his readiness to work and support APGA in actualizing her set out goals at the state and national levels, while calling on all and sundry in Igboland to support the party, to right some of the injustices that have been done to them.

The young politician, while addressing the state executive and other members of APGA, said that the change that is about to take place, will be a change that will positively affect the life of every Igbo man on planet earth, adding that they will collectively ensure that the fight and sacrifice Ikemba Ojukwu, for the Igbos will continue to be supported and sustained.

As a business man who has lived and worked in the United Kingdom before returning to Nigeria, Ikunna has established companies that are currently taken care of over 300 staff from different parts of the country, that are largely dominated by the Igbos and affirmed to have funded a football competition for the youths of his district, where cash prizes were given to winners at end of the competition.

Ikunna told APGA executives that he has a foundation that has provided laptops for students that have completed the programme that was organized for them, provided books and desks for schools that do not have such, to assist them educationally and has also provided fund for some women to start up a business.

The Orlu Senatorial Zone politician, said he has been carrying out the task for some years and believed to do more as time and years progresses, stressing on the need to sensitize the Igbos on why they should join APGA, not to promote the culture and ideology of other regions in the name of joining All Progressives Congress APC or PDP, which he said are political parties for the Western and Northern people.

In a chat with The Newswriter, the state chairman of APGA, Imo State, Hon. Dr. Emeka Ukaegbu, explained that the meeting was convened to review certain issues, particularly the recent court judgment that brought Chief Maxi Okwu, as the national chairman of APGA, stating that normalcy has returned to the party.

The state party chairman affirmed President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as their presidential candidate, if he declares his intention to run for 2015 election. Ukaegbu further disclosed of their resolve to embark on a sensitization tour across the LGAs of the state.

The duo of Dr. C.C. Okpara, State Deputy Chairman, APGA and Hon. Victor Dozie Nwachukwu Chairman, Contact and Mobilization, APGA assured party members and the people of Imo state that APGA will continue in its winning ways in the state, come 2015 elections, boasting that those in APC are already members of APGA that are only waiting for a stipulated time. ###
