Obalga: CTC Chairman Applauded

CHUKUAll Progressives Congress, APC leader in Ward 14 Eneka/Rukpoku in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Emeka Mbata has expressed evasive joy over the appointment of Hon. Dr. Lawrence Chijioke Chuku as the Caretaker Committee chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government.

Mbata who was the former chairman of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Obio/Akpor chapter, made this known while fielding questions from newsmen on Monday, shortly after the inauguration of Dr. Chuku and members of his Caretaker Committee at the council secretariat, Rumuodomanya.

According to him, the new CTC chairman, Lawrence Chuku will deliver being an experienced politician. He described him as a “grassroots politician, foot soldier” and a man of the people who has all it takes to position and deliver APC in Obio/Akpor.

Mbata hailed the state Governor, Chibuike Amaechi for his vision in realizing the importance of Evo kingdom in the politics of Obio/Akpor by giving them the opportunity to rule the LGA, pointing out that the idea is very thoughtful, hence the people are happy and in support of it.

Mbata added that by that singular act, the political equation in Obio/Akpor has been balanced.

He thanked Governor Amaechi for the gesture and described him as a wise and very calculative person.

While noting that the Ikwerre ethnic nationality has benefitted much from the political dispensation, being a governor, former deputy speaker, of House of Representatives and now minister, he called on them to allow others to take their slot in the governorship race of the state come 2015.

Mbata assured that he and others will work and assist the CTC chairman to mobilize the people for him to win the local government election and the state for APC.

He urged all to be very committed to the spirit of followership in APC and work in harmony with the CTC government as it is all embracing and has an open door policy. ###
