Hon. Vidi Questions INEC On PVC Proceeding

The Gokana Local Government Caretaker Committee chairman, Hon. Sylvester Vidi has questioned Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) over the slow pace of the distribution of the permanent voters’ card in the LGA. He said if something is not done fast many will be disenfranchised.

He blamed the carelessness of the INEC staff not getting things done in order to serve the people well and called on INEC to re-organize itself and put things together.

The CTC chairman told newsmen in Bodo as the Bodo City Amateur football federation (BOCAFF) opens the 2014 football tournament.

He appreciated the organizers of the tournament said this is to bring life to the people and asked the spectators to give high regard to themselves as the game cannot go on without them.

On the side of the players he asked them to take the competition in the spirit of sportsmanship as there is going to be a loser and a winner knowing that its great to participate and promised N500,000 for overall winner club, N200,000 for second place and 150,000 for third position and that best player will go home with N100,000.

Speaking to the press, the sponsor, Dr. Livinus Barikor expressed satisfaction on the performance of the boys and the excitement, joy and happiness the tournament has created in Bodo has no regret for his money and asked the plays to ride on.

In his speech, he assured to projet good players to clubs that will make use of them.

In his welcome address, the BOCAFF President, Mr. Kedei Peter Tebor assured the players that there is a technical department headed by one Christian Kpanu, a trained coach that 44 players who will be selected from the tournament to represent the community in all state super league competition under the Bodo resurrected name of Dumpene FC and also assured them that by the middle of 2015 BOCAFF will be fully registered by the state Ministry of Youths and Sports.

Peter Tebor used the occasion to call on the sons and daughters of Bodo to unite, avoid political intrigue, feud, division, inexplicable squabbles, greed and unnecessary marginalization and hatred are elements of retrogression and of course stagnation. ###
