The Eastern chapter of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has called for the cancellation of the governorship primary of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) conducted on Monday.
This was contained in a release sent to this publication on Monday. The Eastern IYC described the primary as a “disgrace”, saying that it was a shame to the Nigeria’s democracy.
The release which was signed by the clan chairmen of the Eastern IYC, called on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to cancel the primary. The clan chairmen further demanded for the dissolution of Chief Felix Obuah led PDP state executive council and appoint a Caretaker Committee (CTC) to pilot the affairs of the party.
The Eastern IYC adopted Engr. Emmanuel T. Georgewill as its consensus gubernatorial candidate on the PDP platform.
“Engr. Emmanuel T. Georgewill is a bridge builder that will win and bring glory to the state”, the Eastern IYC said.
