Gokana: CTC Boss Tasks Royal Fathers, Youths On Peaceful Elections In Gokana

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Gokana Local Government Council, Comrade Kadilo Kabari has challenged the traditional rulers of 17 communities in Gokana on a peaceful 2015 elections.

Comrade Kabari gave the charge in a meeting held with the paramount rulers of the 17 communities in Gokana at the council headquarters at Kpor, on Monday. The caretaker chairman told the paramount rulers that before meeting with them, he has met with the Gberemene of Gokana, HRM king Banabas Baja over the security situation in the area.

He stated that he was appointed at a very critical time in the history of Nigeria because of the current political situation in the state and the country at large stressing that there is road map to peace in Gokana.

Comrade Kabari further explained that his appointment came at an auspicious occasion especially at this election time in Gokana where there are pockets of security challenges, communal clashes , unemployment among the youths, and uncertainty and instability in Gokana seems too high.

The Council Boss said his meeting with the traditional rulers was not unconnected to find a lasting solution to continuous crises in Gokana and to solicit for their blessing for the overall development in the land, why tasking them to play key role in overcoming all the challenges.

The chairman assured the traditional rulers that by their undivided support the council will overcome most of the political, social and economic problems facing the people of Gokana as council will support them in both human and financial resources.

Comrade Kabari maintained that within his few weeks in office he has ensured the provision of electricity, computer training for JAMB Candidates, provision of information and viewing centres in all the communities with the help of the Rivers State Government providing search light ditches and television by Senator Magnus Abe, as he promised to improve on the welfare of the traditional rulers. The Council Boss used the occasion to charged the traditional rulers to do everything humanly possible to secure life and properties during and after elections by making sure there is no bloodshed in Gokana.

Responding, the paramount ruler of Bera Community Chief S. K Deekor said chiefs are custodians of peace in their domains and they will continue to maintain peace and stability in the area. The chief assured him that they will not fail him even if there are Political divide in the L.G.A.

Also speaking, Mene Sibe Lebatom and Chief Stephen Kpea of Mogho community promised the chairman of their total support because they see him as God sent to rescue the people.

In another development, the caretaker committee chairman of Gokana LG.A. has enjoined the youths of Gokana to partner with the council to bring the desire peace and stability in the area. The chairman gave the charge in a meeting he held with the youth representatives of the communities in Gokana LG.A.

He told them to shun any violent capable of disrupting the peace in the area especially at this election time. “This is a critical moment of election, communal clashes are despicable and condemnable “ he said . Comrade Kadilo blamed the youths for political motivated crises in the past while promising a better welfare package in the new partnership to reduce unemployment in the area.

Earlier,       Mr. Borve Paago , Bodo Youth President, Hon. Kpakol A kpakol and Morgan Norte of K. Dere community all agreed to work with the chairman in the interest of peace and stability -especially at this election period.

The DPO in-Charge of Kpor Divisional Police, SP Ita Okon Edet advised the chairman to employ sanction against any erring youth that contravenes the peace process, as he said the youth should be sincere and report any bad egg in their communities to the Police.
