RSHA To Appear In Court

LEYII KWANEEBasely two (2) days after the suspension of three (3) Local Government Caretaker Committee (CTC) chairmen, a group known as Pan Democratic Movement, PDM has threaten to institute a legal action against the Rivers State House of Assembly (RSHA).

The chairman of PDM, Comrade Moses Nengi who disclosed this during a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, observed that the suspension order was illegal and unconstitutional.

The group called on the RSHA to rescind on its decision if not be ready to appear in court. Comrade Nengi said that he cannot comprehend the rationale behind the sack of the LGA chairmen and described it as “envy and jealousy”.

His words, “If the RSHA refuses to reverse its decision, we have no option than to take a drastic court action”.

The group, however, commended the suspended council chairmen of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Ahoada-East LGA and Khana for their development strides in their various LGAs.

Meanwhile, Rivers people have described the actions of the Rivers House of Assembly as belated and of no interest to the state rather personal and means of looting the state treasury before the May 29th handover date.

One of such institutions against the RSHA quests to probe the commissioners was the state chapter of the PDP Campaign Organization, which posited that nothing good would come out of such belated and eye serviced action of the lawmakers.

Barr. Emma Okah, Director of Publicity and Communications to the PDP Campaign Organization wondered what and why the lawmakers are looking for at the dying minutes of their exit.

Again, others equally accused the RSHA of seeking means to revenge and looting the state, adding that the face off between the outgoing governor and the lawmakers was not unconnected with some financial transaction exchange hands between the governor and his cabinet members, leaving the lawmakers at across road.###
