African Church: Two Clerics Kidnapped

Two clerics from the African Church, Rivers Diocese, Ven. J.B. Lawson of the St. Paul’s African Chruch, Port Harcourt and Ven. Isobo S. Dokubo of the St. Mathias African Church, Port Harcourt were at the weekend abducted by unidentified heavily armed gunmen.

The sad incident occurred on the ever busy Emohua/Degema road on Sunday at about 3.00pm.

The two men of God were on pulpit exchange. According to an information reaching our crime desk, the pastors met their abductors while returning from a church service, in Buguma and Obuama respectively.

Our crime correspondent reports at the time of going to the press, the families of the two clergymen or the church authorities have yet to establish contacts with the abductors.

However, impeccable sources hinted this weekly that the African Church, Rivers Diocese will on Friday 25th September at 7.00am in St. Paul African Church organize prayer session for the abducted clerics. And the authorities of the Diocese invited all churches and Christians to attend the prayer session to seek he face of God for unconditional release of the priests. ###
