Amaechi Is Only Barking– Ikuru

Engr-_Tele_Ikuru,_Deputy_Governor_of_Rivers_State,_Nigeria_2014-04-05_17-10Former Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Tele Ikuru says the alleged plan by the All Progressives Congress to rig Saturday’s legislative election is impossible.

Ikuru while speaking to supporters of the PDP at the grand finale of the Rivers South-East campaign of the party called on the people to resist any form of intimidation from the security operatives.

Tele Ikuru, who served as the Deputy Governor under former Governor Rotimi Amaechi for 8 years, told the crowd that his former boss was “barking” when he revealed that adequate security will be put in place during the election.

He reminded the people of Rivers South East Senatorial Zone that Amaechi lost the 2015 general election “woefully” despite being the Chief Security Officer of the state.

In his words, “He (Amaechi) is only barking. I know him very well. When he was governor, he bragged that he has the Police in his right pocket, that he has the army in his left pocket, that he has the Airforce and the Navy in his back pockets and he still lost the last election woefully.

“Let him come with his Army, the police and all the security he has, they cannot do anything. Is it now that we have thrown him out as Governor he wants to win election?

“It is an empty threat. He is powerless.”
