Otonti Nduka Foundation Kicks Off Conference On Corruption, Dev.

The Otonti Nduka Foundation for Values Education and Nigeria Academy of Education has concluded plant to organize national conference on Corruption, Democracy and National Development.

The conference is being jointly organized partly in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the foundation and also in honour of Prof. Emeritus Otonti Nduka, the immediate past president of the Nigerian Academy of Education and founder of the Otonti Nduka Foundation for value Education whose 90th birthday on 9th May 2016 concides with the opening date of the two days conference.

Briefing journalists at the Evans Osi Hall Rivers NUJ secretariat complex, Port Harcourt, Prof. Otonti Nduka the chairman FNDE, chairman Board of Trustees Otonti Nduka Foundation for Value Education who led other members of the Board during the briefing, disclosed that the conference tagged “Corruption, Democracy and National Development is scheduled at Dr. Obi Wali International Convention centre.

The two days conference will witness the honouring of the Emeritus Prof. Otonti Nduka former president general of Ogbakor Ikwerre cultural organization.

According to Prof. Nduko historically several attempts have been made by various successive administration to right the wrong including creation of various agencies including EFCC, War Against Indiscipline, ICPC among others, it is incontrovertible that such were making great impacts on the cankerworm of corruption and one hope that with the effect of EFCC and similar organization will be sustained with great vigour.

He highlighted the new approach to Nigeria’s problems by the Otonti Nduka foundation includes to revitalize the moral fibre of the all segments of the Nigeria society through the enunciation, and inculcation of properties, positive values, capable of sustaining a modern democratic, scientifically, multi ethnic, multi religious, plural society to sustain the moral and ethnical vitality of the nation through research and dissemination of research findings through, publications lectures workshops, seminars, public enlightenment, campaign among others.

Prof. Nduka further disclosed that the event will be chaired by Prof. Nuhu O.Yagub, OFR Vice chancellor Sokoto State University, the key note speaker is Dr. Mrs. Obey Ezekwesili, former Minister of Education while the guest of honour will be Barr. Nyesom Ezewno Wike the Rivers State governor. ###
