Port Harcourt: Police Man Kills Female Police Inspector

THERESA POLICE INSPECTORThe entire creek road market in the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area was thrown into confusion as an armed police officer in a close range shot a female police inspector simply identified as Mrs. Theresa Tokuala to death.

Eyewitness told our crime correspondent that a police officer in a Hilux Van with registration No JTF 015 alleged shot the tyre of a commercial vehicle that was wrongly parked. He continued by saying that, the driver while going begin to rain curses on the policeman. Incensed by the abuse, the police pulled his trigger and the bullet went straight to the female police inspector and she died instantly.

Meanwhile family members cried foul in the killing of the police inspector and demanded that justice should be done to unveil the circumstances surrounding the death of their daughter.

Speaking to this weekly the son of the police inspector, Mr. Ogan Opuye said that there was a foul play in the death of his mother. He described it as premeditated killing considering her uncoming promotion to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) as she was in-charge of police uniform’s department.

The family said that when distress calls were made, a patrol team arrived, alleging that the team has refused to release to them the receipt of the mortuary were her remains were deposited as the family was responsible for the payment of N100,000 deposited for the mortuary.

The deceased’s son had earlier told our correspondent that, “when I visited the scene of the incident, I discovered that the said commercial driver was far from where my mom was shot.

A woman who claimed to be her colleague took all her belongings, including mobile cell phone. Her belongings are still missing as I speak. How can a woman who went to buy things in the market be shot like that? I strongly believe that her death was premeditated”.

Meanwhile Mr. Ahmed, the police PRO Rivers State has said that the police have officially been informed of the sad news, stating that the matter is under investigation.  ###
