Rivers State PDP Ready For Re-run Election Any Day APC & INEC Indicate Readiness- Hon. Ogbonda

One of the leading voices and a founding member of Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Surveyor Sir, Emmanuel Ichechukwu Ogbonda, has accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of continual denial of Rivers people of adequate representation at the National Assembly by their refusal to put their house in order to have a credible election in the state.

According to him, the indefinite postponement of the Rerun elections in the state by INEC is a confirmation of the alarm recently raised by Gov. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike during his campaign rally at Okehi, Etche, that neither the commission nor APC were ready for the conduct of the re-run election in the state.

Speaking to our correspondent in his office at Port Harcourt, Hon. Ogbonda wondered why the electoral umpire would rather than assert itself to a smooth conduct of election in the state resort to frivolous and imaginary phobia as excuses in a bid to satisfy the whims and interest of the APC in the state.

The angry surveyor stated that the law-abiding disposition of Rivers people should not be taken for granted and reminded politicians whose stock in trade is to undermine the administration of Gov. Wike and destroy the state through fictitious security media reports to have a re-think as Rivers State is bigger than any individual selfish agenda.

“PDP will capture all the remaining seats any time INEC make up her mind to conduct the remaining election, we are not afraid”, he said.

He also used the opportunity to showcase the developmental strides of Gov. Wike, like various roads construction going on in the nooks and crannies of the state, in addition to installation of traffic-lights in various major roads in the state capital. “I expressed my profound gratitude to Gov. Wike for his performance so far and pray that God gives him wisdom and strength to rule the state”,Ogbonna asserted.

On the issue of recent Water front demolition by the Governor, Ogbonda noted that the demolition was in order to check mate robbery activities of hoodlums who often use the waterfronts as hideouts, “the demolition will assist the Governor to build a strong security net-work in the state; but the legal occupants there should be re-settled after the exercise”. Ogbonda concluded.
