UNEP Report: Ogonis To Boycott 2015 Presidential Polls

The Ogonis under the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP) have threatened not to participate in the forthcoming 2015 presidential election if the Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan refuses to kick-start the implementation of the UNEP report, which has been acknowledged as a death sentence passed on them.

The President of MOSOP, Mr. Legborsi Saro Pyagbara disclosed this during the 2014 Ogoni Environmental Day Celebration on the 4th of Agusut.

He expressed that the reason will be a mean of non violent protest against the Federal Government, stating that according to the UNEP report, what is happening in Ogoni land is environmental terrorism and it is worst than the Boko Haram menace which over I billion dollars have been wastefully invested into it. ###
