FIRS Officials Swoop On Defaulting Companies In Lagos

Federal Inland Revenue Service, (FIRS), led by the Head of Legal and Enforcement unit Mr. Stephen Abu, swooped on three defaulting companies and others owing the Federal Government various sums of money as taxes, amounting to the sum of N2.17 billion naira.
Security officials at some of the companies visited, alleged that they have ceased operations for some time now, while others claimed that their CEOs were not available and could not say much on the matter.
Abu explained that the raid was carried out on the defaulting companies because of their penchant for failing to honour invitations served on them to appear before the FIRS, to account for their indebtedness to the Federal Government.###
