Truth Alive International Lunches Campaign In Port Harcourt

A non governmental organization known as the Truth Alive International has launched its campaign to strengthen the good values in the society.
The launch which was held on February 22nd, 2012 at the conference Hall of the Rivers State Ministry of Justice, attracted students, youths and well-meaning individuals.
Presenting the welcome address at the event, the secretary of the body, Pastor Emmanuel A. David, said the launch was the official flag-off ceremony of the Truth Alive International.
The secretary described the event as one ordained by God as the revelation of forming the body was caught out of a curious desire to change man and the suffering of man despite the surplus resources within our reach.
He blamed the rate of crime in the society on greed, lack of value and improper training of wards by parents.
The secretary said Truth Alive International is set to institutionalize Truth in individuals, schools, organizations, government establishments and within our political leaders for better development.
He said the organization has series of events which will be accomplished by the corporation and the change of heart by Nigerians toward conscious truth at all times.
Describing the organization as the watchdog on truth, Mr. David charged all to always imbibe the spirit of truth in whatever they are doing.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the event, the president of Truth Alive International, Pastor Olufemi Olujimi said the event was organized to mark world truth day.
He explained that the inauguration of the body was in December 17th 2007 and it is mandatory to mark the world truth day every 17th December, but it was shifted due to some reasons.
He said a day like this is set aside to sensitize the world on the importance of truth and to eschew lying which is the root of every evil deeds including corruption rampaging our society.
The President further stated that human beings are focused to believe lies and every crime committed are found on falsehood. He said as people believe and acted on calculated and planned lies, the people are in total darkness and confusion.
He positioned that the immediate and remote cause that bedevil the society is our ability to feed on lies as man distorts the truth.
On the issue why many people did not turn up at the occasion, the president answered that it was discovered that the truth was relegated to the background, but also laid the blame on the heavy down pour that arrested Port Harcourt that day.
The President has earlier in his welcome address tasked Nigerians and Rivers people to deliberately say good-bye to lying and falsehood and embrace truthfulness in our daily lives.
While thanking those who support the organization in different ways, he urged all to embrace truth so that natural development will begin to come their way.
On why the country is facing a lot of developmental challenges, the president said many politicians are so economical about truth, and there can never be genuine progress where lies dominate. ###
