Council Provides Accommodation For NYSC Members

The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Hon Allen Nma has assured National Youth Service Corps members serving in the Area of good accommodation to enable them carry out their national assignment effectively.
Hon. Nma, who announced this while commissioning a council lodge/NYSC Zonal Office in Emohua built by his administration, said he would renovate government abandoned structures in the rural areas to function as corpers’ lodge.
According to him, on assumption of office, he discovered that corps members posted to the council were faced with accommodation problem, making them to live in hired private houses where the council pay for their rent, hoping that the provision of the facility will reduce their burden.
NYSC state coordinator, Mrs. Josephine 0. Okuonghae, commended the laudable efforts of the Chairman of Emohua LGA for putting up the edifice for the comfort of corps members posted to the area.
She said “provision of accommodation or shelter is a necessity for all humans as it creates room for rest of mind leading to optimum efficiency and actualization of set goals”.
The State coordinator described the NYSC scheme as a veritable tool for national integration, calling on the people of the local government to always make provision for decent place of accommodation for corps members serving in their area and advised other local government chairmen in the State to borrow a leaf from the Chairman.
NYSC Zonal Inspector, Mrs. Ogechi Mba, in her remarks said she was overwhelmed by the action of the council boss, describing him as a man with compassionate mind for corps members. ###
