Rivers World Environmental Day Postpone Till 8th June – Emeka Jilly Ejiowhor
The World Environmental Day Celebration slated to hold on 5th June, 2012 with a theme “The Green Economy does it includes you” has been postpone.
The paramount secretary Rivers State Ministry of Environment Dr. George Nweke announced those at the venue of the celebration at Alfred Diette Spiff Civic centre Port Harcourt.

According to him, the reason for its postponement was as a result of the Dana Plane Crash at Iju-Ishaga Lagos on Sunday 4th June 2012 which claimed the lives of over 153 hundred Nigerians, stressing that Nigerians was in a mourning period as other Nigerians state postponed their own World Environmental Day as well.

Dr. Nweke however stressed that the event has been postpone to Friday 8th June, 2012 at the same venue.

It would be recalled that every 5th June was a day set aside, celebrate World Environmental Day but this year was made impossible on that date which lead to its postponement till 8th June 2012.

Meanwhile Nigerian has been sending Dr. Goodluck Jonathan the president of the federal Republic of Nigeria condolence messages among those who sent message include governor Chibuike Rotimi the Rivers state governor among others. ####
