I Will Encourage Youths To Participate In Politics- Nkporbu

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman of Tai local government area, Mr. Berenor Lekia Nkporbu, has promised to carry the youths along in the scheme of things.
He said this after the inaugural ceremony of all the chairmen of the 23 local government areas of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s state secretariat at Aba Road on Monday, June 11, 2012.
According to Mr. Nkporbu, “The youths are the future leaders, they need to be encouraged to join politics in the right and proper manner. They need to be sensitized on what true leadership is all about so they will be able to lead well in their various fields of endeavour and positions. Besides, the elders who are in leadership positions will soon give way by virtue of age, retirement and end of tenure at all sectors of the economy and polity of this nation and beyond and the youths will be expected to carry the mantle of leadership. Not only carrying the mantle of leadership but also improving on what previous leaders and present leaders have done and are doing simultaneously.”
The Kporghor community born chairman gave glory to God almighty for giving him the victory, and also thanked and gave credence to his predecessor for the hard work geared towards improving the party in their local government.
“I will continue from where my predecessor has stopped. I’m not a sectional party chairman. The People’s Democratic Party in Tai LGA is going to unite as a family. I urge everyone to support me so together we can build a formidable party, especially as we prepared for subsequent elections. I promise to prepare the party to win more elections,” he added.
Earlier, in his address the state chairman, PDP, Chief G.U. Ake advised all the 23 local government party chairmen to harmoniously work hand in hand with the local government chairmen,.”maintain peace and unity and let the peace that has reigned in the state as well as in the south south geo-political zone, as far as PDP is concerned, continue to reign, even to greater heights,” he advocated. Chief Ake advised them all to manage the party well.
On his part, the state secretary of the PDP, Barr. Oruwari Adokiye, attributed the progress and success of the party to the positive measures taken by the state chairman, Chief G. U. Ake, who he described as “a man who does not segregate.” ###
