UST Sports Team Prepares For NUGA

 

 

The Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) has started preparation in earnest to feature for the forthcoming this year’s NUGA Games, to be hosted by University of Efe, Ibadan.

In a bid to give quality representation to the institution, the institution contingents are tirelessly making frantic efforts to meet up with the challenges before them despite writing their exams.

Speaking to The Newswriter sports, the institution football team coach, Cyril Levi revealed that RSUST will feature in the many events in the preliminaries to ascertain those that will qualify for the NUGA games proper at university of Efe, Ibadan. He gives volleyball, tennis, football, basketball, swimming and Taewondo as the events Rivers State University of science and technology (RSUST) will be featuring in.

He further disclosed that Niger Delta University (NDU) of Bayelsa State will be hosting the preliminaries at Yenagoa on the 24th of April to determine those that will qualify to feature for the NUGA games proper at university of Efe, Ibadan.

Putting more highlight on his institution NUGA games preparation, he said, that despite the institution exams that are going on, the students are willing to combine their studies with the NUGA games as they always make out time for training.

Though, according to him, these are some of the challenges he as a coach is facing, as the primary aim of a student is to study and pass his exams. To that effect, the vice chancellor of the institution always make out preference for sports students in form of incentives.

Coach Levi, commended Prof. B.B Fakae for standing by the institution sports team in each NUGA games not minding when the institution is even on strike, he will always provide fund for RSUST to feature in NUGA games.

He is particularly elated that Prof. B.B. Fakae will always want to be with the sports team physically anytime RSUST is partaking in NUGA games, aside the moral, financial and fatherly support. Maintaining that Prof. B.B. Fake was present at Nsukka with his wife just to give support to RSUST sports team. ###
