A former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Austin Adiele Opara has described the budget recently passed by a faction of the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Mr. Otelemaba Dan Amachree as a “fraud”. Austin Opara was speaking at the inauguration of the officers of Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) Degema chapter, at Degema Consulate, headquarters of Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.
He faulted the way and the manner in which the budget was being passed, saying that Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s intention is to destroy the state.
The ex-parliamentarian wondered how a state budget could be passed within twenty (20) minutes and called on the people of the state to reject Amaechi as their governor.
He had earlier advised the Governor to resign to save the state from further embarrassment. ####
