The people of Kalabari ethnic nationality have resolved not to cast their votes for Engr. Tonye Princewill for what they call “betrayal’. Engr. Princewill is the son of the Amanyanabo of Kalabari, HM Prof. T. J. T. Princewill, Amachree XI.
Members of a socio-political group known as Kalabari Solidarity Front (KSF) made this known at press briefing in Port Harcourt at the weekend. They lampooned the Kalabari Prince for insincerity and inconsistency in politics.
The spokesperson of the group, Goodluck B, Amachree alleged that Engr. Princewill has dashed their hopes and aspirations, “when it was obvious that he stood the chances of ruling the state in 2007 but surprisingly gave up the battle for Governor Chibuike Amaechi’s emergence.” Amachree further described Engr. Princewill as a “political businessman, that has no good plans for the state.
The group however, called on the Kalabaris to stand up to the challenge of producing the next governor of Rivers State, expressing optimism that the stage is set for the Kalabari Kingdom to capture the Brick House in 2015. ###
