Dame Judith Commends Coalition Of L.G.A. CAN

The wife of Rivers State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi has commended the Coalition of Local Government Area Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rivers State chapter, on its recent thanksgiving service with the theme: “That We May Give Thanks, which took place last week.

Giving her commendation at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Elekahia, Port Harcourt, Dame Judith Amaechi, represented by wife of the State Secretary to Government, Mrs. George Feyii, thanked the LGA Coalition for their kind gesture to Mrs. Amaechi as one of their Awardees at the event.

Mrs. Feyii, who described the First lady of the state as a woman that has the work of God at heart, lauded the LGA Coalition WOWICAN Executives that was inaugurated at the event, and assured that Mrs. Amaechi will continue to work with women of the state in her quest to serve God and humanity.

Speaking with journalists, Rev. Peter W. Georgewill, LGA Coalition chairman, said that the purpose of the Thanksgiving Service was to thank God for answering their prayers on restoration of peace in Rivers State, despite the recent political challenges in the state.

The Clergy, who expressed satisfaction on the number of commited persons that graced the occasion, affirmed that the relationship between the LGA Coalition, which he described as an independent body and that of the state CAN as cordial.

Rev. Georgewill, however called on Christians in the state to be committed to their prayers and not to follow politicians around.

The event witnessed the presence of Bishops, Reverends, Apostles and other men of God from within and outside the state.
