Rivers: GDI Calls for Health Commissioner’s Sack…Says He Is Incompetent

SAMPSON PARKERWorried by the poor management of Rivers owed hospitals and health centres, a frontline socio-political group known as the Grassroot Development Initiative (GDI) has called for immediate removal of the commissioner in charge of the State Ministry of Health, Dr. Sampson Parker.

The President –General of the group, Hon. Bright Amaewhule made the call, while speaking at the inauguration of the 10 man unit executive of GDI in the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area on Tuesday.

The President-General blasted the Health Commissioner for not taking his assignment serious. Hon. Amaewhule further lampooned the Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for not equipping the health centres in the state, especially that of the BMSH.

The President-General had earlier told the audience that Dr. Parker is not competent to be in office as the Commissioner for Health, “let him resign now and go”.

“We call on the immediate sack of the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sampson Parker. He is not qualified to occupy that position”, Hon. Amaewhule said.

The President-General of GDI has called on the people of Phalga to throw their weight behind the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Supervising Minister for Education, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike as the next governor of Rivers State and President Goodlcuk Ebele Jonathan come 2015. He urged them to be steadfast, saying that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would be defeated by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the 2015 general election. “APC will fail, and PDP must surely win. So please when the time comes vote for PDP, that is the only party that will put smiles on your faces”. Hon. Amaewhule concluded. ###
