The Rich-Oil state of the Rivers State came alive when the Rotary Club of Port Harcourt assembled to honour some personalities with a special community service award. The Rotary Club Community Service Award was bestowed on Mr. Chinedu Okonkwo, CEO of Riquest Oil & Gas Ltd, alias “Mong”. He was recognized for various community services to humanity. While speaking to journalists, Mr. Chinedu Okonkwo CEO said that he will partner with Rotary Club of Port Harcourt for education development. He made this known at the inauguration of the 50 Golden Jubilee President, Mr. Frank Egwu Eni of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt.
He described Mr. Frank Egwu Eni, the President of Port Harcourt Rotary Club as a man with a good record. Mr. Chinedu said that we will introduce Request Education Development Initiative (REDI) in collaboration with the Rotary Club, the Education Development Project is to touch and give helping hands to better the lives of the downtrodden in the society by giving education to the orphans and scholarships to others. Mr. Frank Egwu Eni, the President of Port Harcourt Rotary Club said that his area of focus include: water sanitation and health disease preventions and treatment. The President of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt said that the Rotarians practice a four way test that is measuring the words and the actions by their truth wellness, fairness and goodwill and benefit to all.
Mr. Joachim Ezeji, Team Leader SUWASA said that I have benefited a lot as a member of Rotary Club, he described Rotarians as service to humanity. He promised for supporting the community service project in the Rotary Club, Port Harcourt.
Oparah M. Onyii said that as a member of Rotary Club, “I have met friends and offer humanitarian services to the needy in the society, as a Rotarians I spent my personal income for charities in my immediate community”. She stated that, ‘I rendered humanitarian services through charity homes and NGOs”.
Lekie Maol, Country Director of Centre Oil Pollution Restoration Project Surveillance (CORPS) has congratulated Chinedu Okonkwo the CEO of Request Oil & Gas Ltd on the Rotary Club Community Service Award. ###
