The Federation Cup stage has finally played out in the clear, the defending champions, Enyimba of Aba will meet four time champions of the most glamorous football competition, Dolphins of Port Harcourt to test their supremacy over each other, who will win this year’s Federation Cup come August 16 at Lagos.
The Port Harcourt side qualified to play Enyimba by beating prime of Oshogbo at the semi finals with just a goal digit, same goal margin Enyimba did applied to edged out Giwa FC at the semi finals to meet Dolphins at the finals.
Both teams are being coached by veterans of the championship. Stanley Eguma is the manager of Dolphins of Port Harcourt while Kadiri Ikhana is the coach of Enyimba of Aba, the people “Elephants” both managers are not strangers to the competition of this nature, hence the football loving Nigerian public are in for a complete show down of good tactics and technical abilities when both managers will be at the sideline to direct the encounter come August 16.
While Coach Stanley Eguma had been with Dolphins for quiet a longer time, coach Kadiri Ikhana is making a return to the club he helped won her first CAF competition that had eluded Nigeria for as long as the inception of the competition.
Ikhana idea might be sound and realistic but blending might be his problem owing to the fact that he is not using the same players he used in winning the CAF competition back to back.
Eguma on the other hand might be lucky on the day that he needs luck or luck might just deny him and keeps him stock in the most trying moment when Rivers people and his fans expect much from him.
Eguma Dolphins major problem is creating many chances and taking little in the much chance she creates while Enyimba makes good use of any chance she creates. This is where the Rivers State born Bobby Sokari and the Ghanaian born Joseph Frimpong will be importantly needed and valued as they are the spoilers. ##
