Sekibo Promises Better Deal For Ogu Community

George-Thompson-SekiboThe Senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Chief Senator George Thompson Sekibo has promised better dealings with the people of Ogu community in the Ogu/Bolo Local Government of Rivers State.

The Senator made this promise at Ogu Community during a reception organized in his honour on the conferment of the national merit award – the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

The Senator who said that Ogu community made him what he is today, recalled that as soon as he left the university, Ogu people voted him to become a Local Government council chairman, which he described as a spring board that establishes him in politics.

Sekibo vowed to deal bountifully well with any Ogu son and daughter he comes across anywhere in the world, adding that for the good done to him by the people he has promised to forgive any Ogu person who offended him even before the offence is committed.

He asked the people to support and vote President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 general election.

In his speech the Speaker Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Evans B. Bipi thanked the people for standing behind their son, Senator Sekibo in his elevation to the top and applauded the federal lawmaker for recognizing the people’s work that place him where he is.

Bipi used the medium to advise the people to shun violence and continue to remain law abiding. ###
