Rivers East: Sekibo May Be Dragged To Tribunal

The election of Senator George Thompson Sekibo, the lawmaker representing Rivers East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, may be challenged before the election tribunal by his opponent Chief Andrew Uchendu. Sekibo contested on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Uchendu contested on APC.

The political aide to the defeated federal lawmaker, who does not want his to be mentioned told our correspondent, that Chief Uchendu has concluded plans to drag Thompson Sekibo to election petition tribunal.

According to the aide the Saturday’s general elections were rigged, thus his master (Uchendu) called for the cancellation of the result.

He expressed optimism that Chief Uchendu will defeat George Sekibo in the tribunal. ###
