Sunday Oliseh has recorded his first victory with the Super Eagles as a coach. Playing with African neighbour, Niger Republic in a FIFA International friendly at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium.
Ahmed Musa and Simon Moses Deddy gave Oliseh his first victory in his Super Eagles job as a coach, 11th minute and 85th minutes respectively.
Though, it was a friendly, Oliseh’s seriousness on the job was brought to focus as he stood tensed momentarily throughout the match.
Oliseh’s new team may get better if they stay together for longer time. But for now, there is no team to call a team on ground as of the moment. Based on this, any Nigerian judging Oliseh with the two matches he had played is only unfair to the young man, the boys and nature.
Speaking to the media, coach of the Niger Republic National team, Coach Francois Zahoui said, firstly he is happy meeting his friend Oliseh as a coach of the Super Eagles, saying he is highly privileged to play a superior side like the Super Eagles.
He is using the game to up his chances of making out a great team against his opponent, Zambia in the AFCON qualifiers.
While his captain, Souleymana Sakou said his team fell to a superior side.
Sunday Oliseh used the medium to appeal to Nigerians to be patience as the team has to take time to blend as to be called a team, saying that he is happy with the result and the new boys in the team, added with the teams spirits of the boys, maintaining that the team is on course.
The Super Eagles are expected to come together in three weeks time to map out plans to prosecute the rest of the remaining AFCON qualifier matches.
In regards to that, qualifier friendly matches have be scheduled for the Eagles before the next match. ###
