RivPoly: Student Leader Murdered

Gunmen have shot dead a student unionist, Mr. Nfiri Sebastine in Bori, in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The late Sebastine was in the Department of Science Laboratory at the Rivers State Polytechnic and, also, the financial secretary of the Ogoni Student’s Network worldwide.

The Newswriter gathered that the victim, who was a part-time Fuel Station attendant, was shot dead on Saturday evening while discharging his duty at Barry Oil Nigeria Limited, Bori, by the hoodlums.

Reacting to the incident, the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP), has condemned the dastardly act, describing it as unlawful.

MOSOP spokesman, Bari-ara Kpalap, appealed to security agencies to track down the perpetrators, stressing that his killing was unjustified.

He said: “We condemn the dastardly act, which was reported to have been executed without provocation.

“We sympathise with the family of the deceased and pray God to give them the fortitude to bear the irredeemable loss.”
