RSUST: RSHA Applauds VC Over Developmental Strides

didiaThe Rivers State House of Assembly said it is impressed with the transformation in the Rivers University of Science and technology under the watch of Professor Blessing Didia as Vice Chancellor .

The Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Hon, Martins Amaewhule , came up with this shortly after an oversight visit to the institution by members of the committee.

Martins Amaewhule who is also the leader of the House, lauded the Vice Chancellor and his team for putting in place infrastructure and modern facilities to facilitate smooth academic environment.

The Chairman of the Rivers State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Hon. Amaewhule, also commended Governor Nyesom Wike for the various intervention in the University and said the House will look into the demands of the University, including passing pending bills into laws to improve the quality of learning in the institution.

Earlier , the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Blessing Didia, had told the Assembly members that his leadership has restored peace and stability to the university after inheriting a state of uncertainty.

Professor Didia said both academic and non academic staff now well motivated and students provided with the conducive atmosphere to guarantee effective teaching and learning.

The Vice Chancellor who was full of praises to the Governor Wike for the unprecedented support to the school, called for better funding and the passage of pending bills to enable the institution effectively discharge it’s mandate and compete with others across the globe.

The highlight of the visit was the inspection of ongoing construction work at the faculties of management and environmental sciences, mass communication Radio/TV studio, language laboratory, computer lab, Agric farms, among others.
