Buguma Agog, As Remedial Work Begins On King Amachree Rd

Residents and visitors of Buguma City in Asari Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State will now heave a sigh of relief as work has begun on failed portions of the King Amachree Road.

Over the years, a major area of the King Amachree Road, adjacent to the military checkpoint, had continued to witness devastating erosion, causing panic among commuters in and out of the council headquarters.

The section of the road which is an unavoidable route for motorists, especially heavy duty vehicles has become a death trap, and a great source of concern to commuters.

It is noteworthy that the devasted state of the road has been witnessed by various administrations of the Local Government Area, but has not received any intervention until now.

So far, respite has come to the people of the area as remedial work has commenced, with the approval of the Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Onengiyeofori George.

This, according to the Chairman, will preserve and protect the integrity of the road.

According to Asalga First Media Directorate, handlers of the media unit of the Onengiyeofori George-led administration, the Director of the Department of Works, Tekena Tamunobere, was on site to supervise the ongoing remediation work on the road.
