The newly elected Provost of the College of Medical Sciences of the Rivers State University RSU, Nkpolu Oro Wurukwu, Port Harcourt, Prof. Kenneth Shelu Ordu says he will maintain the standards already set by his predecessors.
Prof. Kenneth Ordu made this known recently in a chart with newsmen in his office in Port Harcourt.
According to him, “as the new Provost of the College of Medical Sciences of RSU I want to assure the students and staff of the college as well as the management of this university that under my administration the college will maintain the standard set by my predecessors as well as improve upon it where necessary.”
He expressed satisfaction with the progress the College of RSU had made since its establishment, especially in churning out first medical doctors and nurses in recent past.
On the challenges and tasks before him Prof. Ordu had this to say: “As the Provost of the College there are challenges. In fact, the greatest challenge before me is time constrain to meet or attain to the needs of the students and staff of the college. Besides, my prayer is that this college will be better than I met it”. Prof. Ordu promised.
The former Dean of Basic Medical Sciences hinted that since he assumed office a lot of renovations had been carried out.
He appealed to both academic staff and non-academic staff of the College to work together in order to achieve more common goal.
He urged the students of the college to take their studies seriously.***
