JTF Arrests, Kidnap Suspects In Omoku

Months after the lecturers of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku, in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA of Rivers State under the College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) visited the office of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Rivers State, complaining of high security threat and kidnapping of its members. The Joint Task Force has arrested hundreds of suspected kidnappers terrorizing the institution and its environs.
Investigation by our reporter revealed that on1st of December, 2012, the JTF penetrate into the hideout of some of the kidnappers and arrested hundred of them, including women.
On the success recorded so far by the security agents, some of the lecturers commended the military for their intervention so far but stated that most of the notorious kidnappers are yet to be arrested.
Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officers, Rivers State Command for confirmation failed, as his phone lines were not through as at press time.###
