The District Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ikwerre South District, Rev Dr. John Ezekwu and his wife, Rev. Mrs. Esther Ezekwu recently celebrated their 25th Marriage anniversary in grand style.
The historic event was held at the Rumuokwuta, Port Harcourt branch of Assemblies of Church with a special service officiliated by the Assistant General Superintendent, AG Nigeria, Rev. Dr. Chidi Okoroafor, Bayelsa State DS, Rev. Godwin Dimkpa and a host of other ministers, while the reception took place at the Roses centre Hall, Rumuigbo, Ikwerre Rd.
Speaking at the occasion, Rev. Ezekwu said that God had been faithful to his message, adding that it shows the finger of God is in it and in his distinct. Expressing gratitude to God for the journey so far, Rev. Ezekwu noted that love, dedication and God are the secrets behind lasting marriages.
Earlier, chairman of the occasion, Prof. C. I. Umuchuruba charged men to spend time with their wives and children and called on them to emulate the celebrants.
Condemning a situation where men abandoned domestic work for their wives, he said that women are usually stressed up in marriage and therefore need their husbands’ help. “I can prepare food for my wife, make doughnut, wash plate,” he said while urging dignitaries who attended the event commended the celebrants while Evang. Chinedu David Ubani advised Nigerians to marry because of love. ###
