Nigeria Premier League Renamed

Taking advantage of the gains of the home based Eagles in the just concluded 29th Africa Cup of Nations, which the home base players distinguished themselves to the amazement of the rest of the world, the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) has changed its name to Nigeria Professional League (NPL).

It would be recalled that Coach Stephen Keshi paraded six home based players in the 29th African Cup of Nations Eagles squad that lifted the cup, namely Chigozie Agbim from Enugu Rangers, Azubuike Agwuekwe from Warri Wolves, Godfrey Oboabona  Sunshine, Ejike Uzoenyi, Enugu Rangers, Reuben Gabriel, Kano Pillars and Sunday Mba from Enugu Rangers who actually gave the Eagles her winning alone goal to lift the 29th African Cup of Nations in 19 years.. ###
