Port Harcourt: NOUN Students Decry Poor Learning Environment

NOUN CROWDThe students of National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, Port Harcourt outreach centre have cried out what they call “unconducive learning environment and poor management”.

The students numbering over twenty (20) who stormed our office, on Monday, expressed sadness the way and manner in which the NOUN programme is being run in the state

According to them, learning materials such as books are not made available to students even after all necessary payment.

The students alleged that due to the poor management of the institution, examination dates are shifted indiscriminately as they suffer untold hardship.

They further alleged by hinting our education correspondent that last week one of the students collapsed due to stampede at the examination centre in the University of Port Harcourt, Choba.

The students called on the Federal Government and the relevant authorities to do something about the situation to save the school from total collapse. ###
