Autocrash has occurred in the Okrika LGA of Rivers State on Monday.
Our correspondent gathered that the driver of a vehicle collided with the okada rider and disappeared without rescuing the victims.
Our correspondent who visited the Okrika mainland clinic where the victims were rushed to, reported that the okada rider simply identified as Wokwu sustained life’s threatening injuries as a result of the fatal accident, while the female passenger. (Purity Tamunotonye) sustained injuries on her left leg and a broken hand was responding to treatment.
We gathered that due to the injuries, the medical doctor of the clinic referred the okada rider to another hospital.
Speaking to our correspondent one Mr. Tamunotonye, the father of the female victim condemned the attitude of the motor driver, describing it as an act of “wickedness”.
And wondered how a driver would knock down an okada rider and a passenger, then disappeared.
The father however, observed that the accident was an act of recklessness and advised drivers to always respect road signs. ###
