Gokana Cluster 1: Kpor Chiefs’ Council Protests Planned Exclusion

The people of Kpor community in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State have protested the planned removal of their community from Gokana Cluster 1.

This was contained in a letter entitled “objection to the proposed removal of Kpor community from Gokana Cluster 1 Rivers State”, written by the Kpor Council of Chiefs and sent to the General Manager, External Relations, SPDC.

The chiefs declared categorically that the community is comfortable in the Gokana Cluster 1.

The letter which was duly signed by Chief Friday Kpaabel, Chairman, Council of Chiefs and Elders, and five (5) others, however noted that the community will not hesitate to notify the appropriate authorities, if the community desires for such a change in future.  ###
