The Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Hon. Daddy Pokima has set up a flood emergency committee comprising all the councillors and other stakeholders in the LGA. Hon. Pokima made this known during the one day sensitization campaign programme in Degema by the Ministry of Special Duties.

The Chairman advised all the participants to disseminate the information to the nooks and crannies of the LGA to check flooding this year. Speaking at the occasion, the Commissioner of Special Duties Barr. Dickson Umunakwe told the participants to take the precautionary measure seriously so that they don’t become victims of the flood this year.

Responding, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Dame Mina Benibo advised all members to pass the message across and called on all participants to abide by the instructions. The team was accompanied by members of the National Emergency Management Agency on the sensitization programme.
